mushrooms to me have no flavor (except the ones that taste like cow shit

) so I'll eat them if they're on a dish. I guess I haven't had well prepared mushrooms or something. I think that's because most of the time they're there for flavoring and not as the dish.

i think if i randomly saw a fish floating in the middle of the water, i would think something was up... but i suppose i'm a bit smarter than a fish as well...

My sister is fairly handy at the knife, and I tried a dish she made. It's not that I don't like the taste, I just can't STAND the texture or the smell. Feels like I'm eating a worm or something. Like I can't eat mushroom pizza, but I could pull the mushrooms off and be OK. Or I could eat around the mushrooms in a certain dish. Just can't eat the little bastards.
This weekend I may be able to meet up. I'll be leaving school on saturday morning, but I have to work in Williamsburg VA on Saturday into Sunday. So Saturday mid-day or sunday afternoon is when I'll be free. I can be home from school by 11 on saturday.

well if you're a fish and you see a fish or worm or something floating in the water, you think, ooh food. It'd be like you seeing a 100 dollar bill sitting on the ground.

Phil - Fair enough. You'd try a bite or two, though, if you were at a French restaurant and the aforementioned vol au vent was ordered by a friend or something, right?
THAWA - Good mushrooms have a lot of flavor, but regular ones at the grocery store generally don't have much.
Laurel - What exactly is your theory again? That it's okay to eat animals you catch with bait but not other animals?

Yes, and i feel better about eating unattractive, or irritating animals than i do about eating cute animals, like puppies, and lambs

Vikash - That'd be the catch-22. I have a vice about mushrooms. Makes me sick to just think about them. But I'm open to trying new things, and vol au vent is something I have not tried, so there you have it.
If it could attack me, I'll eat it. I actually prefer eating those kinds of animals. Shows who's the boss. If I had the opportunity, I'd kill an alligator and eat it on the spot. It'd be a warning to his friends. "Yo Jimmy, watch out for that guy. He killed Fred last night and ate him in front of us."

I don't like to eat plants because they can't run away and I was reading that they're aware when they are damaged, although nobody has seemed to figure out what exactly that means or how they 'know'.
How about eel? Anyone ever try it? Looks disgusting, but it's damn good. I prefer eating ugly and nasty things as the world needs as much beauty as it can get, but I draw the line at crusaceans and bugs. Love shellfish and other seafood. I love squid, although I don't like octopus. Would eat Canadian geese all day long if I could and if they were good to eat. Chicken, what the hell else is a chicken or turkey good for but eating? Cows fart too much, so they're on the plate. Pigs I don't mind as animals, but their problem is that they taste so damn good!

Here here!
I don't like mushrooms either, at least for taste

There's a time and a place for mushrooms but it's not on my food.
Oh, and congrats on getting rid of the bike and getting your car on the road. I'm sure you're amped

OMG, I haven't and couldn't pronounce it but you just made me painfully hungry.
I love all mushrooms. Me and fungus just get along good, I guess.
