I used to go with some mid-grade stuff, when we were an NA 4eat; pennzoil or quacker state 10w40 or 30 --whatever I felt like-- dollar store rear diff 80w90, and dexron mercon3 at fluid. I topped off with 76 or ampm's 89.

Oh, those were the days. . .

Since the swap, I've been running mobil1 full synthetic 10w30, redline 75w90, and only twice have I used gasoline OTHER than Shell's V-Power. I think we're in good shape with this combo.

I am soon also switching to a better brake system, which would get ATE Super Blue.

castrol GTX 10w-30, Genuine Subaru oil filters, every 3000 or less.
premium from Amoco, Conoco, or Citgo only.
I stay away from crap stations, which tend to have moisture/water in their gases, learn from others mistakes on that one.

Oil: Castrol GTX 10W30

Gas: Used to run 94, but then realized that the time I drive the car the hardest is in an area with only 91 available... 91 it is! :)

does anybody use Castrol GTX 10-30 High Mileage??

I put it in last time.

Is it better for engines with over 175k miles??

or just stick with regular GTX?

noticed most people are using Castrol GTX, I've used this oil exclusively on my vehicles...
blew two VW motors and I still use it....

im going to say like douglas vincent

chepest oil, 10w30 every month becuse i all so like my motor.

for the tranny and diff only I MEAN ONLY 80w90 cheap stuff, i change it twice a year becuse i love my 5mt and diff

spark plugs i change 5 times a year, ngk copper works the best, no dout about it.

for gas 94 octane sunoco gold (canada has diffrent gas becuse you will FREEZE your nuts), air plane full some times 120octane, becuse i live next to a air port and like to see very high boost levels.

the SS gets:

mobil 1 5/30

91-92 octane.

the L gets:

mobil 5/30

87 octane.

both get subaru filters.

the SS has GM syncromesh in the trans
and the L has the new subaru ATF fluid in it.

Legacy777 there is no lead in my gas, in canada they give us this extra stuff for our fuel lines so they dont freeze. its like octane booster shit same thing.

oil: regular penzoil 10W30 for all seasons. i like the high flash point of penzoil, which tells me they use a high quality oil in their manufacturing process.

gas: Even though my car has the legacy ss engine i still use the cheapest 87 octane i can find. - the boost is set to wastegate and i never dip into the boost much anyway, because the clutch just slips when i do that.

Thanks Bheinen74, that's what I figured.
I don't have a level spot where I can do an oilchange. I put almost 5 in last time and it's a little too much...
