i wanna see time slips and dyno plots and pics of your driveway. that and the junkyard turbo setup and the dsm in a civic.

oh and like i said if you can do all you do without shooting fireballs than ill belive you. infact i want a vid of a folow behind on every one of your properly tuned cars doing a full pull that doesnt shoot flames.

btw we have discussed megasqurits here before. if you have luck with it more power to ya.

Wow Volksabu, you're something else. Where do you get off telling people their cars run like crap when you've never even seen or riden in them? Another thing, don't call my friend a moron when you obviously don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. Every "tuned" high HP turbo car I've ever been around shoots flames and I've been around a lot. Oh and mine shoots flames and I'm running the stock DV. Guess your stupid little theory doesn't hold up much there now does it?

My buddies Evo 8 is stock except a TBE and he shoots bigger flames then me. I guess Mistubishi are a bunch of "morons" too and have crappy running cars? I'm sure they know nothing about proper engine management either. :roll:

Oh and sense you're such a high and mighty little asshat you would know that simply moving our hot wire MAF to a location post turbo would completely fuck up fueling, right? I'll be sure to just "fab up a pipe" and move it real quick just cause you say so. Get real.

Go back to Vortex.com or RicersRus.com or where ever the hell you crawled out of. You obviously just want to start trouble and you're lucky I'm not a Mod or you'd be gone.

For one, that's a 9 sec car, at least in that run.

Might be kind of hard to see the flames in that video anyways considering the retaining wall is blocking the bottom of the car for a good portion of the run. You only get a real good look at the back of the car for the last shift and yes, I didn't see any flames but I know I for one sure as hell don't shoot a flame on every single shift. Also, if you're running too lean you probably wouldn't have any excess fuel igniting either.

Oh but since you dug up one video (probably been searching the net for hours to find it too) you must be right. :roll:

Where are the vids and pics of your cars?

Oh and who started the flaming there buddy. That'd be you.

I just wanted some opinions on the FMIC- then we moved to the BOV- then to flames- then to rampaging idiot thread.

I have fireballs all the time without running atmospheric. When people take issue with the car "going rich" on shifts from running an atmosphere dump BOV they forget how rich the car already is.

I strongly advise you all NOT to use those knockoffs. We've had two people come in with turbos whose wheels looks like they went through a blender because those BOVs are garbage and caused major surge.

I sold a Greddy FMIC kit for WRX to a local who will be putting it on his Legacy SS, but unfortunately he hasn't done that yet.

I'm making a custom front mount for mine this year as well.

If there's enough interest we could make some extras. The trouble is I'm sure you won't all be running the same turbo so the piping wouldn't be "bolt on" for everyone.

i actualy am using a knock off and its doesnt surge. infact every last part of it is identical to the txs model minus the sticker on the top. i brought mine down to rally sport direct to compare and their identical

Fuel cut launch control provides just as much boost pressure between shifts without as many of the harmful side effects.

As far as the fireballs go...At an a/f of 12.3:1 at 11-12psi my legacy turbo still shoots fireballs.

Wow im sorry i missed this thread. I giggled until i had to pee.

Just thought i'd throw 2 things out there.

The bypass valve is to keep the turbo spinning when you shift. With a bov it kinda stalls out. Not so good for turbo longevity and lag.

IMO, front mounts are overkill under 280hp, provided you have adequite airflow over a wrx tmic, and the tmic has some sort of gasket.

Volksabu- installing the maf post turbo sounds like a pretty bad idea to me. The maf is rather sensitive to vibration and turbulence, and i bet the heat would make for some wonky readings as well. You could add extra piping to isolate it, or you could add some 1000$ all told for standalone, i encourage you to do either.

Yeah, since I've gone atmospheric it's easy to feel the difference between shifts as far as the turbo staying spooled up.

I'll swear by front-mounts though, the top mounts are too prone to heatsoak for my liking. With a laser temperature tool we read row by row to see the cooling effect and just from engine heat the lower three rows of the saab IC were hotter than the intake charge, even with insulation rigged up between the engine and IC.

My FMIC stays way colder. And i've got room behind it for two puller fans should I feel as though I need them. Now I just need that 16g and more fuel...

I've loved my front mount since i put it in except for the occasional pipe blowing off under high pressure. The only lag i've ever experienced with it is when it first starts up, not sure exactly why that is, i guess it just needs to pressurize the inside first or something. I remember installing the fmic with the 16G and driving it for the first time. It was pretty crazy compared to a normal turbo legacy, i was almost scared to step on the gas, now that's passed and it's time to install the new turbo.

In a legacy with a top mount, it'd be pretty damn difficult to put the maf after the turbo, there isnt much room, it could be done with the front mount i guess but I have to agree that i dont think the maf would like the heat and abuse it would get.

And for fireballs, my car was shooting an occasional flame when it was pretty much stock with the exception of an invidia downpipe and catless 3" stainless steel exhaust.
