This one will blow your mind:

D - Dave's
L - Legacy
C - Central

That was the original name of the site, my first name got dropped years ago because it didn't seem like personalizing it was useful.

I have several other nicknames, but if you join the IRC channel, you'll see my most common base nick.

Edit - I usually go by Cowapult. That makes for a more interesting story than rally sam, so here you go:

I always thought catapults were cool. I used to try building ones as a kid.

My engineering company built a couple massive steel trebuchets, entered the punkin chunkin competition, and threw a pumpkin about 400 feet. They were powered by a 2,000 pound concrete counterweight. My bosses were actually on a Discovery Channel show about it.

Why COWapult? Well, catapult is always taken b/c it's not unique. COWapult is a reference to Monty Python when those Frenchies catapulted a COW at the main characters!

(plus a monty python reference automatically admits me into the nerd club)

I was watching Initial D when I joined this forum so you can kind of guess where my name came from :wink: Not wanting to be a complete fanboy I figured I would pick an obscure character as a name. Matsumoto is Fujiwara's mechanic for the 86 in 4th stage.

Legacy= My favorite car
Punk= My favorite music
555= was added before I knew it was a tobacco company that sponsored subaru at rally's, and I don't know how to remove it.

I just go by LegacyPunk everywhere else

5 years ago me and my cousin dreamed about rallying. So i sent an e-mail to four star motorsport to buy a rally swift GT. I wanted to look serious so i created a team. Mathieu and Hugo Rally team

We didn't buy the car, but got a job for the Losier( that's a family name, not a typo :wink: ), we worked on an eagle talon TSI first, than we had a Lancer EVO 5 grN and a WRX. We ran for 4 years, we were service crew and preparator part time.

The eagle talon was sold, the EVO 5 got wrecked last year (totally destroyed :cry: :cry: ) and the Suby is hidden somewhere, with a full STI swap never put to use.

Because I'm complete know-it-all bu|| sh!t. :P

Actually, it started many years ago in the chats, sort of a word play on the whole experience. And I'm far to lazy to remember multiple user names so I use it everywhere.

I may be the only one to say it, but I don't really like mine. I was working on an explanation for a stick-figure-looking character typically used to explain GC-IRMS. I thought he (isotope man) was cool...at the time. Turns out that there was a comic book character of the same name at one time or another.

I could've sworn isotopeman was a Simpsons charater, but I've been known to be wrong on a few occasions ;) My username is fairly straightforward. I live in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area and I'm a Subaru guy. I use it on all the forums and most other online places as well.

You're thinking of Radioactive man.

snowboarded, not really my nickname.
I chose it because at the time I signed up here, I was ready for snow. A mixture of that and I ended last season with an injury. My explanation for getting hurt was I got snowboarded real bad.
My real nicknames are BIG J ( being pleasently plump) ;) or brownsville - Named because I was playing a brownsville guitar when I started my band.

I've been a VW Bus driver for 7 years now until I got the soobster. I've been a Bus fanatic since I was 10... I only got the soobster because I blew the Bus engine and needed a car quick for work, after driving my friends 90 GL I was hooked, found this one for a good deal and been loving it since. Oh yeah my Bus still has a blown engine and my soobster is getting all the attention while the bus is just rusting away here by the ocean...

I bought this car in 1998 for $150 for a winter beater

it had 116000 on it , drove it three years ( year round )

broke a cv joint .......let it sit .....side window got broke

let it sit lonnger .......then the local speedway came up

with the idea of running 4cyl fwd enduros

spent $400 fixing it up.......raced it 4 times

1, 2nd place .....broke the wheel off 2 laps short

2, dnf broke the ball joint ( forgot to weld it me bad)

3,1st place all went considering they let the V6 in

4, 3rd place ....against a true race car and a V6

car now has 172000 on it .......it waiting for next season

IronMonkey because I like monkeys. I have no clue why iron, but what the hell.

L255 stands for lvl 255, which is the max lvl cap in some of the Star Ocean games, as well as a major player in video game programming back in the day.

Yes, I am a geek

I have had this handle for 6 or 7 years.

Marbles is short for the phrase "I'm sharp as marbles, and half as fast" i cant remember where i heard it.. but i was goofing off in counterstrike and put it as my handle... but it's too long to type, so when people talked to me, they always shortened it. Marbles stuck, but usually when i have a sig, the whole phrase is in it.

had the handle everywhere that will let me, for the last 8 years or so
