The hard part, for me, is trying to make sure I don't rip the blowoff valve's return hose (or the fitting on the compressor inlet boot where it connects).

But you just have to pull really hard. I usually end up pushing downward on the aftmost part of the pipe; this kind of twists it around the compressor outlet and pulls it off the throttle body.

It may help to run the engine a little to warm up the pieces. Polymers tend to be more compliant when they're warmer.

You could try a lubricant, but it shouldn't be necessary; there's probably plenty of motor oil already spread out over it all just from the PCV system.

it seems like the bov's hoses are 'holding' it in place.

Yes, but there's also a clip built into the big plastic pipe that goes around one of the hoses to hold the hose in place and indirectly hold the valve in place.

simple solution, take the TB bolts off, you can take the whole bugger off as one peice, TB to 90deg inlet. after having to do it 12 times in one week i got it down

ugh...finally got it off. How much boost can the saab w/ plastic endtakes withstand?

I ended up just unscrewing the bolts that hold the coolant tank...can I just let it 'float?'
