Yeah it was different from me shooting flames. I do that too running rich and catless. its a beautiful thing

Edit: I still don't see how sparks could appear. We've obviously established that flames are possible and quite likely... but sparks? Viewed from behind, up an open exhaust? That just doesn't sound good to me.
found it heat sheild cut the 02 sensor wires and it was arcing to the heat shield.

At the time I got 50 miles using 3/4 tank. but your tank is bigger (early impreza here)
I did really well yesterday with the new 02 though. took 8 hours to get from denver home (usually a 3.5-4 hr drive) got almost 30 mpg in the snow using 3rd and 4th most of the time.
i am much happier now

Thnaks. I had to remove that heat shield. Now it is on too the oil consumption problem
