Um any body else get sparks????

Post by bmxpunk »

So My girlfriend was folowing me last night and she said that she saw a big blue "spark" come from underneath my car. I was like, "yeah its running a bit rich it probably shot a little flame out the back." She said no that it was definately Blue and it came from more like the middle of my car. SHe said it happened about the same time it sounded like I shifted.

I am kind worried. Anybody have any suggestions?

The only thing that occurs to me would be if there was a crack in the midpipe and it was spitting flame every once in a while

Cars arent capable of discharging a big spark from the undercarriage, the tires (repleat with steel belts) are much better conductors than the air.

No sparks, but I once had white fog.

One rainy night driving down fast from Whistler and when braking hard for the turns it seemed like fog was coming up from the floor. Checked it out the next day and there was no way that fog was coming in.

Now, I had smoked some BC bud before leaving but it took a few years before I realized what it was about.

On a similar trip(no pun) , but no weed I noticed(finally) that the double solid white no passing lines going into each tight turn illuminated the spray coming off the front drivers-side wheel which looked like steam or fog.

The single dotted line on the straights did not reflect back the light in the same way.

Dont drive after smoking dope---too weird and dangerous :smt087

I am going to have someone slightly more mechanically minded follow me tonight.

my 1970 mach 1 has no exhaust behind the headers... and no driver's side floorboard... when you hit the gas, it shoots flames out the headers.. it's cool, but I'm worried about it setting something on fire :!:

sorry, I have no insight to your issue, and am going to go along with the malfunctioning flux capacitor.maybe check the circuit and make sure it's not shorting out the kneuter valve?
yo mang, can I get a rootshell?

Ferret-reducer? Isn't that the story about Richard Gere?

SO I figured out what it was, because my car just started running like ass.

With my new 3" exhaust and shorter hangers, i smashed the 02 sensor into that thin sheet metal guard above the exhaust, which eventually wore through the wires on the o2 sensor. so that is where the spark came from.

If I'm not mistaken, when you're running rich and you don't have a cat then it is possible to shoot flames or at least a few sparks.

I have too. I love the sound of it! It is easier to see at night however. Stock turbo and 3" catless tbe = fun flame.

3" catless TBE is definately fun with the backfiring :-D

No match for my GMC's backfires though... I mean Jeebus, it sounds like a cannon! Almost scared some guy in a convertible off the road when I backfired while he was passing my truck.... When he recovered and finished passing me, he gave me one of those "Why did you do that?" looks... I tried real hard not to laugh

Edit: I still don't see how sparks could appear. We've obviously established that flames are possible and quite likely... but sparks? Viewed from behind, up an open exhaust? That just doesn't sound good to me.
