Are they the self ported kind of piston?

engines whether turbo or not, like to run at a certain temp. if you change that too much, then the car can act weird. if you want it cooler, don't get a lower tstat, but rather a good flush, water wetter fluid and an oil cooler. a good intercooler would help too.

I'm also going to theorize that the OEM ones are fail-safe, which means if they fail, they will at least stick open so the engine can get coolant. If it's not fail-safe, it might stick closed and your car will overheat :shock: .

My car warms up about twice as fast now as it did with the old one, so I'm wondering if my old one was stuck open...
