well, most of my stuff is a sort of modified semitruck mudflap on custom aluminum brackets..
so it's a short 4" x 20 wide 1/2" thick set of mudflaps in front of the rear suspension/axle at an angle..
looks a lot like a rally gravel guard. I've no skidplates yet... ^^

I also made a heat shield for my oil cooler/filter to keep the header heat away.
Last weekend I got the engine in... This weekend, it's all about the hooking up part now!

Well, I've the last few vacuum lines around the turbo and to finish putting the anti-freeze in..
the TMIC install wasn't painless, but went fairly well... I've a bit of tuning coming my way when my last intake elbow comes in this thurs or friday...

Because, you've got just a td04 with the stock computer, will make it run, but an RRFPR and FCD, along with MBC will do great. Depending on how much boost you run. With a motor that built, put a "disco potato" on that shit and love life.
If you p

I plan on saving up for "externals" here pretty soon, having AXIS dyno tune it and strap on some power! I just wanted a solid foundation for my build..

Just prior to the trans breaking, I ordered a sweet full aluminum radiator.. *my stock one had a lil leak at 3,000 rpm and from significant dripping to a light spray when I hit 5,000... The sad part... between order date and arrival date, my trans dies...
Oh well, at this rate, the only things I haven't rebuilt/redone are:
Paint *doesn't need it*
Interior *just needs some cleaning*
Steering links and front suspension *pretty decent, but I'd like to upgrade*
Rear Diff
AND the rest I've fixed or refreshed... well, I suppose my stereo system could use a cd player... but meh... I'm happy listening to the boxer rumble; Every time I turn the radio on or put a tape in *yes, I broke out my old tape collection..*, I end up turning it back down to hear the engine!
Despite the random headache, I love these cars!

They're stock ej22t rods, so they should handle up to 18 psi spikes...

Good thing you bought the rods, I've lost two engines to thrown rods at somewhere between 18-20 psi with my turbo. I finally went out and bought some eagle rods for my engine this time.

yeah, I'm pretty thankful I bought the SCAT rods..

stock would possibly have let go... *i've toasted one set a long time ago in a little Subaru GL*

I didn't write that ^.
I wrote that I've spiked to 18psi leveling off to 16psi on a TD04.
If someone took the time to replace pistons & bearings it makes sense to me to spend the $400 & get some good rods in motor.
I would not trust the stock rods.
That said 18-20psi from a T3/T4 is not the same as a 2.5 second 18psi spike from a TD04.

My buddies Wiseco's and Eagle's handled a 35+psi spike from a 3076R. Could have been higher, but it maxed out his Zeitronix MAP sensor at 3.5bar. Small leak in the EJ22T headgasket though after that. And by small I mean small

SWEET! yeah, I've the Wiseco metal head gaskets.. so that'd not be a weak point either.. I'm thinking my engines weak point would be the head bolts... and that will be taken care of when I go to ARP studs/bolts when I do the head swap later. ^^
