The insulation is primarily for noise reduction not heat.

just wondering how much of the actual out line of the stock hole in the hood did you use for the wrx scoop if that makes any since lol. cause i just picked up one with the air directer thing too

I remember wanting to use one of the lines/edges from the original hole, but I ended up cutting the entire circumference.

From what I recall, I did this because the existing tabs for the original scoops mounts did not line up with the mounting hardware on the new scoop.

hmm okay now my mind has gone ape sh!t on me trying to think of a good way to not mess up the only hood i can find (which is my own...)

i think im going to just sticky tape a wrx or 2.5 rs hood scoop on ... ghetto but i dont have to cut the hood.

or maybe just keep the stock leggy hood scoop (mine is cracked so i am looking for a stock hood scoop)
