Slam those seat rails. Hate those damn leaky ass sunroofs. Wish the SS's never had them.

Don't have welder or I would. Sunroof sucks. It usually onpy drips a few times but the other day I washed my car in the do it yourself car was stall with the pressure washer and when I pulled out of the parking lot it dumped a cup or so of water. Luckily it was the passenger seat.

my old volvo used to do that to me, got water dumped on me every time it rained. sucked.

Heh... After owning all those SSes I really miss the sunroof now that I drive a no-frills GC.

man i am 6'4 and want to swap out my seats in my car. which ones will work best for a tall guy like myself??? lol i hope i can find a pair. i dont want to buy seats to find out i cant fit into my own car.

i took apart the wrx and stock seats
the wrx seat bases are taller the rails are exactly the same height from the bases down to the floor.
it seems that cutting the legs shorter is the only way to get them down and there's not much material to work with but i can give it a try I have a welder.

So the 02-03 seats are pretty similar to stock ones? I think i'm gonna get some for my 91 and i'm 6'0 so i'm hoping they are pretty similar

No. They sit higher.

but arent they adjustable height wise? the stock seats i have dont go up or down idk if all the years were like that

The drivers seat has height adjustment but it still sits much higher than stock with it cranked all the way down. The passenger seat has no adjustment and its super high.

I think it's just the L and base model Legacies that don't have height-adjustable driver seats; LS, LSi, and turbo models do.

For my L model.....the seats sat almost at the identical height. The turbo legacy seats with the sunroof must sit lower.

Mine's an L and they dont adjust. I like my seat low so will i be disappointed with them?

For me the 02 WRX seats are a HUGE improvement over the stock seats.

However seats are very subjective as you can tell from this thread, so what you like, others may not....

would 04 sti seats bolt in? has anyone done this?

The 04 seats should bolt in as well, but will likely have similar issues with the height and the seat belt buckle sitting high.

I know some folks have used some other seats, so hopefully they'll provide some feedback.

Any of the newer seats will work, and despite the height issues folks mention, that's probably your best bet.

The 02-03 sit pretty high, I have a big torso and am 6'2" and it was barely drivable until I cut/fabbed/welded the brackets to the lowest possible height while still keeping the OEM rails/adjustment.

im 6'4'' and 248#'s. I find these seats comfy with head room, even in the most erect position with the lowering lever all the way down.

Sit in the passenger seat...
