No... You have to mod something to make it match up to our turbo, as we have a different clocking on the outlet (Intake outlet not exhaust).

That was why I asked about how he did it... I could prolly figure it out but knowledge ahead of time would be really nice.

Hey, just trying to defend someone who seemed to be attacked is all. Maybe at some point you will contribute something useful to the board and you yourself may be attacked. But, until that happens, I'll just continue reading your posts about decals and how cool they are.

Okay guys... Knock it off, this ought to go under the "I'm fed up with it, Rant inside thread"

http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic. ... 389#240389

Now back to the IC stuff...

How do you put the 06 WRX/FXT TMIC on a stock vf-11?

You just have to get extra piping. Some sort of flexible rubber hose that has the inner diameter of the the outter diameter of the turbo intake outlet (lol that's a mouthful).

Then you connect it to the Y-pipe. At least, that's what I would do...

Then you also have to reroute the coolant tank.

Thanks!

I really hate that damn coolant tank... I break it every time...

thanks for your imput captain diversity!
i'll make sure to take your ageist thoughts into consideration. :smt023

and Mr. smh, and asc you don't have to buy a wrx coolant tank do you?

Hahaha I was just giving you my opinion. Some people have also taken the EJ22T coolant tank and taken out one of the screws off the bottom and rotated it 90* to the right.

This allows it to remain in the stock location . BUT you have to extend the coolant hoses AND be sure not to break the nipples. Other then that, it should work...

1. so where do i find the turbo intake outlet? (noob i know :( )

2. and how hard is it to re-route the coolant tank, can i just un-screw it from wherever or am i going to need to purchase additional hose to put it wherever?

baSically where do i run the hose from the TMIC flange to...

and where do i run the hose from the Y pipe to.
is it the same spot the plastic thing connects to now?
thanks,

ok i figured out where to run the hoses to but what has to be done to move the coolant tank?

that seems like the hardest part right now

The turbo intake outlet is the part of the turbo that feeds into your throttle body, but with the intercooler it's going to feed into the intercooler instead.

I think i remember there being 2 screws holding the coolant tank on. Just undo them and it'll detach from the intake manifold. Be careful when removing the hoses off of it, that's when everyone breaks one of the nipples off.

right. ok i'll be careful.

is there a way to do this without (completely) relocating the coolant tank?

do i have to buy new lines for the tank if i move it?..im guessing so.

i bought new lines just because the old ones were, well, old. but i think you'll have to buy new ones anyways.

hahaha ooooh yes. i could've told you that a while ago.

just remember this tip when you're working on our cars. whatever you think the final price for doing something is, multiply it by 2.

and whatever you think the amount of time it will take to do something (for the first time) multiply it by 3.

hahahaha. it seems to be pretty accurate for me.

ha ha thats true.
i know my benefit will exceed the costs, by far.
i just wish i didn't have to wait til' next weekend to do this now.
whatever, it will pay off in the end.

ok what if you extended the tank to the right, but kept the same mounting points?

what if you used longer screws and just put a spacer in between so the whole thing could move tword the windshield washer fluid.

would that work?
you could keep the original mounting bracket and almost everything, and the whole thing would just move out of the way.

eh? eh? :-D
