OK so we went back to the tuner shop and they completely punked out on us (after we paid them 1.5K). So now its lawsuit time.

Ill get pics of the completed motor though in case anyone still cares.

Did you pay with a credit card? You can file a claim with the credit card company.

They said because we supplied the parts there is no warrenty not even on labor, they would fix it, but he had to pay again.

He paid with a CC and had a stop payment put on it. We are going to trailer it to Turbo Time and have them do the work, than sue Majestic for the total amount of the build and then some for inconvienance.

The other alternative is purchase a STi from an 07 and do a complete swap. We currently have some local friends with the parts lying around to do this..including a complete harness and ECU.

The motor is cleaned and all new gaskets and rings are in, the motor should be done at the end of the week. FYI the original builder put the wrong rings in which caused the leaks.

UPDATES

The motor should be going back into the car. The new shop (Turbo Time in Fayettville) is installing a different thickness HG they believe will be better for the engine Rather than the stock EJ25D HG's.

The motor should be back together shortly, and Maybe Tim can chime in on ride quality and performance here in a few (since I am deployed now), once it installed and running again.

The new head gaskets are in today so an install and a fabbed intake and a tune is all that is left. Anybody have suggestions on EM ? Ive heard of the PP6, i dont think they make it any more was on their site didnt see it , however they did have a SMT6 wondering if it was the same in new packaging.

Turbo Time got the motor runnin but they said the 550s are flooding under boost . So im waitn for EM. Anybody have any prop. venting to atmosphere ? They suggested i recirc which means they have to weld a flange and charge me more$$ any sugg.?

Tim it has been argued a million times about venting and it has been proven it doesnt hurt anything. I wouldnt waste the money on a flange. I would just let it vent.
I think people are more concerned with the "rice" sound of venting than anything. Personally I like the sound and could care less what anyone else says about it. There are no performance advantages to having it recirc.

hey! sorry we had some sour dealings previously. i'm sorry. I do have a great recommendation for you concerning blow-off/recirc.

http://www.maperformance.com/go-fast-bi ... u-wrx.html

just an example. i'm sure you could find one cheaper. it will give you the better driveability down low in the boost/rpms, and at higher boost/rpms, it will vent to atmosphere.

UPDATE: The car went to the other shop to be rebuilt then i had to search for some sort EM found one got the money up and then my dog hurt her leg and $500 later i had to wait again. NOW the car is at Epic Motorsports benig tuned as we speak ran into two prob. so far broken injector o-ring and the engine seems to die under any type of boost, at low speeds its good but when you get like 20% down the throttle DEAD. Robbie thinks it may be the MAP sensor so we are gonna try that and see what happens. He did get one pull putting 167 hp and 232 tq at 8psi.

100% plumb back for silent operation, just like the factory valve
100% atmosphere for maximum noise
50/50 plumb back/atmosphere for a more subtle but audible blow-off sound

lol, maximum rice. I like the sound of a blow off valve but I think it would get annoying after a while. Especially when you're driving for a long time or you've got someone asleep in the car or something.

The BOV doesn't go off everytime you shift, just when you're under enough boost for it to open. I rarely hear mine during daily driving unless I'm really pushing on it which would wake that person up anyway.
