sqc151, I got my arms a little while ago, but i noticed that they seems to be straighter than the legacy arms. Am i missing something? the legacy arms have a kink in them, making them kind of a z shape, while the rs arms are just straight. Did you have to modify them in any way to get them to fit? Thanks!

I got them from the site listed above. It's a subaru dealership in Washington.

sqc151,

Still kinda curious what i'm missing on this. I went to install the RS arms today and realized a few pretty important things that make them not work right off the bat.

Image

The top arm is the legacy arm. I don't think it's different from yours, but maybe that's where i went wrong. Anyways it's a wiper arm from a 93 ls.

The curve in the arm allows the arm to fit around the cowling. The rs arm doesn't have that so it hits the cowling.

Additionally, and probably more importantly, the mounts on the far left where it connects to the posts for the wiper motor are different sizes. the legacy arm's mount is a smaller circumference than the RS arm.

What did you do to get the 00-01 RS arms to fit? I'd really appreciate your input on this. I'm not sure what i'll do with the arms if they don't fit.

Thanks!

PUll the cantilevered spoiler off of there, install it on the Legacy and sell the wiper arm without it?

There's also a big angle on the blade end of the legacy arm that isn't on the RS arm.

Yeah, that's a pretty big kink. I figured i could work around it, but there's no getting around the diameter of the mount that seems obvious.

Pop those rivets, take the spoiler, put on new black rivets in their place and sell the old arm to someone with a base model Impreza.

eh, i'm going to try to return them. I can try and find the spoiler in a different way. We'll see how it goes. I doubt anyone is going to pay for these arms with or without the spoiler, so spending 70 bucks or what ever it was after shipping and tax on a spoiler is a little steep.

So, resurrecting this a bit, I'm playing around with the accord spoilers zagarus recommended, but do you guys think that one of each arm is too much? I think I'm leaning towards one spoiler honestly, but i do notice a lot of chatter on my passenger side arm.

i pulled them off some accords at pull a part or what ever it's called now. Want me to keep an eye out for some for you kimo?

I was using duct tape to hold them on for the pictures. i still have to decide one or two, and whether or not i should just use the rs one i have.

I gotta go to the local junk yard with many early '90's Accords, I think those are the ones to get the spoiler off. If they are, I'm set! And I can always go to a different yard and get a spare set of arms for my car to put the spoiler on.

Yeah, I put the Accord one on mine, but I think I'm gonna get one from an RS.
They cantilever out so they work better, but everyone wants like $15 and I cant
warrant spending that on a plastic piece.

Like twenty bucks, i have one like this: http://www.lowes.com/pd_45272-412-RH200 ... facetInfo=

But i'm not really sure yet if it uses the right kind of rivets. A buddy of mine works for boeing doing riveting so i think i'm going to ask him to help.
