Looked at gold paint for the Forester wheels. Only one stuck out and its a Ford gold, don't really wanna pay seven bucks a can when its for wheels.

This gold was the Dupli-color Gold engine enamel stuff. Worked good. Didnt turn out
too bad looks-wise.

Depends what clear coat you use. The color looked a bit different before the coats of clear.

Grimmspeed makes a gold that matches stock the stock STi BBS color. It is a bit spendy but I think it's the best rattle can gold color.

Thanks, man. I had always wanted one too. I barely ever drive it anymore.
Maybe a few times a month. I moved to a new place and I dont have a place
for it so I leave it at my parents. I got a friend saving up money to buy it. Shame
the car just sits there after all the work and money I put into it though haha. Still,
I love the Legacy more. It's been a good car.

SWRT, did you just sand and then paint? did you prime at all? Also what have you done to the RS and why do you like the Legacy more? Its just i know the RS are getting more and more difficult to get hold of without rust and with a manual. your looks like it was just made. did you repaint it all?

Yep. There was still some of the original gold on there so I just sanded that down and sprayed a few coats of gold over it. Then like 3 coats of clear. It was my first attempt at repainting rims. I ended up spraying that one on one weekend and the other three on the next. Unfortunately the next weekend was pretty humid so the other 3 didnt turn out as smooth.
http://www.rs25.com/forums/f105/t136579 ... ldies.html

Here's actually most of the stuff I've done to it since I've gotten it. I'm sure there's a
few parts and crap that I left off.

http://www.rs25.com/forums/f145/t150858 ... 98-rs.html

Nope, no repaint. It was actually pretty rough when I got it. I just wax it every now and then.
These two pictures were taken just after a wax. The only things I really painted were the fog
light covers and side skirts I believe. And the oil cap gold :P It's pretty awesome haha

I think I just like the Legacy more because I take explore everywhere with it, haul a ton of stuff around in it, hit anything I want to and not really care and it's been a super reliable car. I haven't had any major problems with it and the stuff I've done to it has been stuff I wanted to do, not needed...very much unlike the RS. It was a world of problems and spent about 8 months of my ownership sitting in a garage at a friend's house until I could afford to fix the stuff. It just made me kind of despise the car.
Man, it's a nice ride though. Shifts smooth, corners on rails, the seats are more comfortable, it has a newly charged AC. It's a nice car. I just still kind of have that stuff against it.

Got looks from some guy in a black convertable Mustang. I had the projectors on, driving lights on, and pulled out quick from a stop. Made my day haha.

Did those Hellas fit behind the grill with a functioning AC condenser? I want to do Hellas eventually but have heard that they do not fit with AC, and I like me some cold air on a hot day.

My friend made a funny comment after going to the subaru show with me. He said he was very disappointed in the subaru crowd for putting expensive recaros and bride seats in our cars and running Volk knockoff Rota wheels. He also pointed out that we're the only ones who are obsessed with their horns, putting supertones in every subaru grill.

Lowered it some more yesterday, had it low enough that my mudflaps scraped on hard turns  raised it up a bit so now they're a half inch or so off the ground. Need to roll my fenders though.

EDIT: Nm, still scrapes...

Alphius, yeah, i still have all my ac stuff. though the grille is modified. but the actual clearance behind it should not be any different than the stock grille.

Kimo, i have no idea what it is about supertones, but the first time i saw them i just wanted a set. hell, i don't even really care if they work or not, they just look nice there. The subaru community single handedly keeps Hella financially afloat.

Funny story, first time i saw a set behind a grille i thought to myself "Self, why are those pulleys in front of the radiator?" then i realized i was a moron.

lol that made me laugh.

I have my stock horns behind my grill just to clean up my engine bay a little and they are pressed up against my grill mesh and thus sound like shit. The supertones I think might be thinner but much wider in diameter so they might fit. I don't have an AC condenser either. I'm going to remove the horns though, maybe tomorrow even. I have a new horn to put in. Not going to be in the grill I don't think but it sounds pretty cool. Puts a smile on my face when I honk it.

I think Josh said something about the amount of the space behind the preface lift grilles. Apparently there's much less space behind those preface lifts. The stock horns are thinner than the hellas, at least i think i remember them being that way. it's said that i put them on today and i already don't remember.

I was toying with putting all 4 horns in there, but i think it might be overkill.
