Need ECU Code Clearing and Reset Instructions

Post by William D. Robinson »

I took my car to a mechanic to have the exhaust sniffed prior to mandatory vehicle inspecvtion and they somehow triggered a bunch of error codes. I switched ECUs, but I still have 22 knock sensor, 31 throttle position sensor and 32 O2 sensor. Last night I disconnected the negative battery cable for about 30 minutes, but as soon as I turned the key on, (did not start car), I had the same three codes.

I am looking for ECU clearing procedures, O2 sensor checking procedures and the complex ECU reset start-up procedures. Does anypone have these?

Thanks Bill Robinson

Need ECU Code Clearing and Reset Instructions

Bill,

Check out my site, www.surrealmirage.com/subaru I have all the ECU info there. It's under notes & tips and engine related. You can clear the ECU using the battery dance method. However you can use the two connectors, and in your case, i would use the connectors, because if you follow the procedure you will be able to tell if you still are getting those problems and such.

Josh
