did you ever discover why the rear wheel bearing went out so
quickly? i have a 91trbo/lsd 3.90 rear end and we had to replace the
right rear bearing and the seals and 2 months later the noise is back
and not sure if its the left or right......just another trip to the
lift to find out.....is there something inherently wrong with the
right axle setup? somebody should have a remedy, wouldn't you
think........any insight would be greatly appreciated.....thanks ,
david
MY RESPONSE
i have had the same problem.. except mine lasted about one year before reoccuring... what i found out on the second fix was this.. make sure the outer dust seal (the one that faces in towards the diff) raised lip is facing towards the diff NOT towards the wheel... if it faces towards the wheel dirt and debris will enter the bearing... other issues.. you have to take apart the bearing and clean out all the shipping grease in a parts cleaner, then repack with wheel bearing grease. i used high perf EP grease i use at work to repack boat trailer bearings... its red and made to withstand saltwater. also make sure you seat the bearing all the way down... thats all i can say.. and pray it dont happen again!!! i have repacked the right twice and the left once... i dont wanna do it again!
