I'm looking to buy a header, I dont know if the HKS is worth the money. I'm thinking of buying the borla one because I dont think there would be that big a difference. What are you guys running????
Thanks,
Mike

the stock header is going to retain heat the best, which is what you want. If you want to do anything, get the stock one jet-coated. It will help reduce under hood temps and and retain heat in the exhaust.

If you can get a coated, Stainless Steel one you will both retain the heat, get better flow and drop a lot of weight off the front of the car.
Then again, it's not cheap either.

You get what you pay for, thats why the HKS products are so expensive.

Header will be about 300 bucks or so

Only real issue I guess is that this borla will only work with the n/a's & will probably require some replumping of the rest of the setup.
If you had an aftermarket turbo setup, you could probably get it to fit pretty easier.

There was a borla header made for the wrxs. Limited sale price of >$400 but that sale is over. I'm not sure how much they're charging now. I know I posted something on this board about the header. Do a search for Borla header and it should come up.
Headers...Borla`s the best!

I have thermo-coated Borlas on my custom turbo set-up now. I put them on an NA motor and when the turbo was added the up/down pipes were a customized fit. I had looked at STI and other JDM stainless headers that were offered for our Subies--WAY too expensive and not much different than mine (try $1700+ w/o up/down pipes, etc!!!) I personally think they work great and am very pleased with their warranty. You can expect to pay approx $400+ for the headers and coating. I`ve never had the thermo coating on any car before so after I`m up and running, I`ll let you know the temp reduction.

. Talk at you soon--Rod
