Hi Everyone

I am desperate for some info, I have found this group again in hope
someone can help me!!

basicly I have 3 days to get my clutch fixed on my Scooby Doo 4cam
2l turbo K plate Legacy estate...to cut a very painstaking and
exhausting story short my car was nicked clutch completly blown
away!! insurance have ripped me off to buggery and now they have
given it back to me with loads of bills and hardly any money!! I now
have 3 days to get it back up and running before I lose my job,
girlfriend and probably my sanity!!

So my favour is can anyone please please please give me a very basic
run down on how to replace the clutch in the quickest, cheapest way
humanly possible...I live in Bristol and and will be driving down to
Oakhampton (devon) tomorrow to pick up and work on the car so
popping into a shop/garage on the way to get parts would be perfect
timing.

I have very good set of tools and knowledge so any hinters on
special tools or methods on getting the clutch out would be
fantatstic!!

I will check here hourly for replies

Thx so much in advance

Labor wise it should take about 3.5-5.5 hours, depending how handy you are. Clutches themselves vary in price significantly, one froma place like scoobymods.com or GGR (just a standard Suabru replacement unit, will be much less expensive than a Centerforce, which is around $500 US give or take.

Don't forget you'll want to get a new pilot bushing for the flywheel, new throw out bering for the input shaft, and also have your flywheel resruaced by a comptant machinest. Also get a hold of a few cans of brake cleaner to clean out the tranny bellhousing and bearings, and also to wipe doen teh flywheel thouroughly after it is install to get rid of dirt, fingerprints, etc.

And lastly, you'll need the clutch alignment tool - some aftermarket clutches come with them, I doubt the OEM replacement does.

If you want, on Monday I would be happy to get you a price on a staright OEM unit..while shipping to the UK might be $100US or so, it still may be cheaper than what you would otherwise pay...just need to know teh exact year and spec and build date of the car

thx very much for the reply, i have managed to find some new clutch
plates for £95 from a scooby dealer but obviously the bearing and
cover are extra! I really do not need the car to last more then
another 4 months this is a serious bodge all I want to do is get the
car moving (hpfully without clutch judder) and then after 4 months
will probably just sell it on as an old banger or parts.

can anyone give me a better idea of the steps involved in getting
the clutch out such as a 1, 2 , 3 guide and also any special tools
I will need ?

I know I will need to somehow align the clutch so I don't get juder
I have heard u can make this tool?

please reply ASAP

thx again in advance!" sorry for being such a nuisance"

95 lb sterling for a clutch disk? I can do this same piece for around $34 US!!! An entire clutch (OEM) would probably be around $200 and change, maybe a tad less including the bearings.

As for a 1, 2, 3 guide, goto your local bookstore and get a Haynes manual - Idoubt you are going to find a good guide online
