So I just got back from a Subaru meet here in the SF
Bay Area and saw some interesting things. The first
was a 2.5 RS with the turbo assembly from a '93 turbo.
Exhaust manifold, uppipe, turbo and crossmember. He
also said he was able to use a WRX downpipe/exhaust
and that it just "bolted" on. I was curious because I
thought for sure someone on here has tried this. The
only thing that I can think of is that his turbo is
mounted in a different location as ours, and this is
why he was able to use it. I also saw a N/A legacy BC
and he was running 17's with no problems whatsoever.
His suspension was totally stock though. Has anyone
had any success running 17's? If so, what suspension
are you using? Fun day all in all and it definitely
gave me some ideas.

The WRX downpipe can work on a GC chassis, not likely on a BC chassis though.
I have a Godspeed JDM downpipe at the shop that we took on trade though for a
2002 WRX, and I will try and see if it fits....we'll see.
As for the rims, 17's, even 18's are no problem,,,just need the right bolt
pattern and offset even with a lowered suspension,
I have a set of 17 inch Volk Gram Lights (gunmetal) that i want to install on
the Legacy, though I may just sell those and go for a set of gold RS rims
instead, to keep it in budget.

Brian- I run 17 by 7's on my '90 FWD Legacy Wagon. I have a rub of the back
wheels on the spring seat of the strut when I go flying around corners or
carry a heavy load and bottom out. They don't seem to rub at all up front.
As far as driving-- the 215 45 17's I have (Federal 595's, kinda cheap- but
they grip like hell and have literally saved my life a few wet nights) make
a big difference in cornering and put more rubber on the road with a FWD
that wants to spin the tires constantly. The suspension on my rig is mostly
stock (changing that slowly but surely) with about 300,000 miles. I can
handle the rubbing every so often. I will eventually have to address the
rubbing and general fitment of these wheels, when I upgrade struts and
springs, but for now they look great and handle great with only the smallest
problem.

Speaking for UK model (bearing in mind the recent exhaust fitting probs as posted here) the WRX downpipe not including the new bug eye) defeinitely fits BC5/BF5 legacy/liberty. I have two BF5 and they both have Impreza downpipes.

Cool! Only thing that nay present a problem si that we in the US call the
"WRX" is really the new age model...not sure if that matters or not yet, but
I will know soon!

TurboXS downpipe is positively MASSIVE!! Should fit a BC/BF (same as Impreza classic) but not sure about your emissions laws tho. Good luck

Dfullerton runs 17s from a MY01 Impreza - no probs - I have some Kahn RSRs on the way.

I think that the WRX or the turbo Legacy manifolds and crossovers
will bolt into a n/a car we have replaced blown WRX motors with EJ22t
shortblock assemblys and they bolt in. The problem in a n/a car is
that you still need oil and water supplies and drains. The factory
manifold is expensive, heavy, and not very efficiant and the
crossover is a bit of a chore.

I run 17 x 7 rims, KYB AGX Struts and Whiteline Select Springs. They
did rub badly. So I had the wheel wells roled
No rub any more
and nice wide tires!

I also have 48mm offset 17 by 7's. Some rear rubbing in rear but it is not
a big deal. Mostly stock susp.
