Great item---I love mine--i took mine from my 90 and swaped my whole radio and cd in for that console pocket. Much better then looking at your stock radio.

Well, I won the auction. It'll be nice to replace that ghetto plastic piece that's a filler.

Ok...I'm curious...is this different then the stock peice? My understanding is that our dash hole, whatever you want to call it, is 2.5 din. I was thinking our stock radio is 1.5 din, and the box with the flip panel is 1 din. If you replace the stock radio with a aftermarket head unit, it will probably be 1 din, leaving a 1.5 din space, is that what this box is for? Or do I have everything wrong, maybe it varies from year to year?
thanks

I think that's exactly what this is for.

Actually, it leaves a .5 din opening to be precise

Yes, our dash openings are 2.5 DIN. This means that when you replace your headunit with almost any aftermarket, single-DIN, headunit you'll have a 1.5 DIN opening left over. I've had an aftermarket headunit in the car since '97 and have had a single DIN flip top pocket in there since then as well. When you get rid of the 1.5 DIN stock headunit, you're left with a .5 DIN opening. When I installed the headunit, I used a small piece of black plastic to fill the opening. Not pretty, but functional. This pocket will complete the install and give me a little more room to store my shit.

Damn! I wish I had know...I'll be getting a head unit soon, so the 1 din box I just got will be useless...Anyone know where in the world I might be able to find another 1.5 DIN box?
Much thanks

When I put my head unit in I filled the extra half DIN space with a graphic equalizer. :)

The part number is listed in the auction. Just out of curiosity, I plugged that part number into subaruparts.com and it was $36 or so. You should be able to get it anywhere as long as you've got the part number. I assume the part number they listed was the correct one, but I won't know for sure until I have it in my hands.
