Devin,

what wire you lookin for? The light will plug into the connector.....you should be able to trace it down where it connects into the brake light wiring loom. If you are adding the spoiler, you just need to tie it into the 3rd brake light.

Not sure if that helps, if not, post back with more details.

i was figuring i'd have to tie it into the 3rd brake light... (which wire is positive?) but i was hoping there would be a connector for it somewhere in the car. you know how even if your car doesn't have power mirrors, the wires are still in there? i was hoping the wire for the spoiler brake light to connect into was also always there.

thanks,

In my '93 Turbo sedan, the LED's across the spoiler are used as my
3rd brake light, and I do not have one in the rear window.... BUT,
yes, the connector for it IS there, right next to my trunk light.
Initially, I didn't know what it was, but I had an idea that it was
the 3rd brakelight connector (or 4th, i guess in my case), so I held
a voltimeter up to it while a friend hit the brakes and sure enough,
it read 12 volts DC when the brakes were depressed. The same wires
run the length of the car, as they had the same color codes at the
connector as they did at the brake switch. Now I just have to figure
out what else I want to have turn on while I hit the brakes! (Maybe
a sign that lights up in the back that says "catch me if you can!")

Who knows if this helps you, but there you go.

Well, this makes me hopeful... is there any chance you could trace the wire from the LED's and tell me where the wire it connects to is located in the car? I've looked everywhere and can't find it... beginning to think i'm going to have to splice it into the 3rd brake light.

thanks,

Devin,

I checked it out, and If you look on the left side of the trunk lid,
there should be a black plastic "wire guard" or something along the
bracket arm that houses the wires that run to the tail lights on the
trunk lid. At least there is on my 93. The wires that run to my
spoiler come from the bunch in the guard. From the guard, they
follow the trunk arm and continue down behind the trunk panel on the
left side just in front of the jack. there's a whole mess of wires
here, because that's where my P/B contorl unit sits. But the wires
you need run to a 2x2 connector behind this panel. My colors are
red, blue, black, and white/black. The white/black and the black
wires are the ones that run into my spoiler. My guess is that you
might have these wires up to the 2x2 connector, but not out of it.

Hope this helps. I should buy a digital camera.
Also, i've got a friend with a '94L without the spoiler, so i'll
check out what she's got if I see her soon.

-mike.

Devin,

If your car is not turbo, you don't have the wiring.......for me, the white wire with black stripe was negative. Green wire with black stripe was positive.
