I finally did it. I was able to install an extra bulb in each side
marker light to turn them into turn signals.
This is what I did.
-pulled up the turn signal wire connectors up near the top by the side
marker.
-drill and install new bulb socket.
-cut off the old turn signal connector and attach them to the new
sockets
-plug the original side marker connector to the new bulb
-plug in the turn signal connector to the old side marker light
connection.
So what side effects so far?
-The turn signal flashes about twice as fast because of the wattage of
the bulb. This does not affect hazards though.
-the little black plastic shavings are hard to get out. I ended up
washing it out with water and drying it with a hair dryer.
Other notes
-Both connectors for the turn signal and the side markers are the same
type of connector
-Parts America - Calterm 08591 side marker socket assembly $3.50
-Parts America - Sylvania 168 bulbs $2.00
Here are some pics of the car with and without the fogs (they won't be
up forever so check them out)

John,
Sounds very cool!
Couple questions/clarifications. Did you keep the stock bulbs in the stock location for the normal side markers? and then install new sockets & bulbs for the blinker?
The faster blinking....have you looked at getting a different turn signal relay. I'd have issues with the faster blinking.....that drives me nuts.....but that's me

Did you keep the stock bulbs in the stock location for the normal side markers?
-Yes the stock bulb is in the stock location BUT that bulb is now the turn signal (I decided to do that because it’s brighter)
Then install new sockets & bulbs for the blinker
-The new socket and bulb I decided to use for the side markers (dimmer so you can still see the blinker flash)
I would also have to say the fast blinking does drive me nuts also. But for the 3min a day that I use my turn signal I guess it’s worth it to have the fogs. Where is the blinker relay located? Is it easy and inexpensive to swap out?
One other issue I forgot to mention is that when drilling you will want to keep trying to fit in the socket (the tighter the better) also the sockets I chose are not hard plastic instead its rubber so its has a nice snug fit.
Hope that helps!
Thanks!
