How much does your Legacy weigh?

Post by douglas vincent »

Trying to dump weight and get it to less than 3k with full tank and me. Was at #3300 before ripping the back seats out and all the plastic. Gonna go tinny. Amazing what all that insulation does for sound control. Will weight it in a day or two after guttin the interior.

Less weight = faster, plain and simple. I mean, that wagon is a heavy pig after all. If I could get it down to 2000# that would be great. Of course I wouldnt have an engine or tranny so that would defeat the purpose!!

Also, doing the SCCA autocross this weekend at PIR. In addition I am installing a crossmember on the rear struts and just cleaning the car out. I have to put all the seats back eventually since I have kids and they like to be a tad more secure than being duct taped to the floor.

I too am curious as to the weight of my vehicle. I haven't weighed it before, but I might go try to do that this week.

Hovercrafts do indeed rock!

Well I did it. The car weighs in at about 2850# with a full tank of gas. With me thats about 3000# on the money. I "think" there is a noticable difference.

To get to this point, this meant all plastic in the rear cargo area, all carpet and insulation, rear seats, front seat and spare tire. The next step would be to start removing some of the dash area and what nots that around the front of the car. However I think I will stop where I am for not. It is still nice to have a radio and fan!

Remember the Power of Air Tools. The seats only took about 15 minutes to take out.

At the hillclimb at Okemo mountain I saw what I think is the replica 22B that a guy from New Hampshire had done at Vermont Sportscar...I think it has our bottom end with a wrx or more likely EJ25 quad cam top end...and this is the bomb, custom carbon fiber body! or at least fenders...and they are really really flared, so he has huge tires under it, its really a awesome machine!

of course, it got in a wreck, and I bet all those panels are going to be expensive to fix!

Some guy on the nasioc boards was selling that carbon fiber 22b kit a couple years ago. I have no idea what happened to him. Maybe that's the prototype kit?

I have my FWD legacy gutted. It only has a drivers seat and dash in the inside. I also took off the trunk...lol and removed the muffler. I'd like to know how much mine weighs.
