I know this is an obscure question, but does anyone
know the wiring of the throttle position sensor (on a
90 Legacy L Wagon 4wd) What resistances I should read
at the various pins at idle and at WOT? The Chilton's
manual seems to have it wrong - gee that never happens

Wiring of Throttle Position Sensor
Moderators: Helpinators, Moderators
Wiring of Throttle Position Sensor
Pin one and two are the closed throttle indicator. These should be connected
when the throttle is .29 from the stop screw and open when the throttle is
.32 from the stop screw.
Measure the resistance from pin 3 to pin 4 and make sure the transition is
smooth from closed to open. I think this is most important over a specific
value.
To measure total resistance measure from pin 2 to pin 3. I dont have the
specific value but I could measure one of mine if you like.
I have a picture of the unit available, but someone has probably already
scanned it so I wont recreate the work yet.

Wiring of Throttle Position Sensor
Let me correct that with info from the Service Manuals.
Connector 2-3 should be 3/12 kilo ohm
Connector 2-4
throttle full closed 10-12 kilo ohm
throttle full open 3-5 kilo ohm

Wiring of Throttle Position Sensor
Here's info from the FSM's
http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8 ... sting1.jpg
http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8 ... sting2.jpg
http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8 ... sting3.jpg
The resistance readings at closed and WOT are sorta not as important as getting the throttle on/off switch setup correctly. I believe that info is on the last scan.
