ECU Code - Constant flash?

Post by SubaruCO »

Checking the ECU codes (thanks Josh for your website's excellent description) my CEL flashes constant short flashes. No breaks or long lights just short flashes. I searched and was unable to track down this particular cryptic ECU code. Can anyone enlighten me as to what this means?

Constant flashing means everything is fine, and no codes are stored.

just out of curiousity, my car does the same thing when i plug the cel connector together... 5 fast flashes, if everything is fine, why does the cel stay on while operating the vehicle?

You're not doing something correctly.

If both the black & green connectors are disconnected, and you have a steady CEL, then you have a stored code.

When you connect only the black connectors together, it should flash a series or at least one long flash, and then a series of short flashes......which indicate what code is stored.

+1 on the disconnecting the black single wire connectors.
You are sure that the black plugs are single wires aren't you? Lotsa connectors up there but only one like this.
Also make sure that the bright green single wire connectors are apart.
Even if you didn't connect them, do an idiot check.
