Did you use the bushings meant for the WRX?

I can understand shift bushings.
Why do you care, or why do exhaust hangers matter?

well ciper you understand how flexable stock bushings are! this is not only a upgrade but also replaces your 12 year old bushing and muffler hangers. if you mess with custom exhaust it aint always to oem spec--larger pipes less restristion causeing it to shake around durring high rpms.
this makes the exhaust stay still dude!

But why do you want it to stay still? Id think you would rather it move along with the engine so that joints dont get stressed.

Exhaust moves mostly with body motion. If they are too stretchy they will be the cause of stress when it lets the exhaust move too much. We are talking about near the rear, not right by the engine.

That makes sense, I guess the muffler and resonator is heavy enough to be effected by inertia more than the changes in position from the engine.
BTW doesnt it seem odd to bolt the exhaust right to the transmission? I think it would transfer alot of heat

its only the back 4 hangers---no where close to the motor where the flex will be flexing---i dont know why subaru bolted the exhaust to the tranny... but its not directly or close or anything. goes thru a couple of cool brackets first. so should be fine.

I need to get new exhaust hangars for my car. I can grab my muffler and shake it until it starts hitting something without any effort at all. In fact, that's probably the strange noise I've had for a while after going over a bump...
HomeSlice, where did you get these bushings?
