Need your help with my master cylinder swap

Post by Legacy777 »

This is a cross post between forums....but I need all the info and people helpin out I can :)

Some of you, may or may not know the entire saga I've been goin through, but to sum it up, I've done brake swap from WRX up front & turbo legacy in the rear. I increased the volume demands in the brake system, and am getting too much pedal travel.

To fix it I found that upgrading to a 1 1/16" MC would probalby solve my problems.

Here's the link to the longer, in-depth thread http://forums.i-club.com/forums/showthr ... did=256730

Anyway.....down to my problem. I got a MC from a 90 Legacy wagon w/ ABS. It had the larger bore MC.

However in inspecting the MC closer I discovered that the ABS MC does not have four lines for the brake lines. It only has two, which go to the ABS module & then split off to the four wheels.

So my question is....those of you that have done the single stage booster swap & swapped the MC as well.....did you run into any problems like this.....or do the later model MC's have 4 outlets......or does the 1.8 impreza have ABS?

What I need is a MC that has 1 1/16" bore & has four brake line outlets.

If you can check out your car....and see if it has 1 1/16" MC & has four brake lines comin out of the MC.

Here are some pics, which show where the size stamp is on the MC, and where the bottom brake line outlets should be, but are not....

If you guys can help me out I'd appreciate it big time as this is my last resort to fix this freakin brake problems.

Thanks in advance.

My Impreza was a 1.8 originally and it has ABS because it is a L or LX model. I will try and check the MC size in the morning.
