strange noise from the back?
I have a '97 outback AWD, I noticed that everytime I let off the gas at 40+mph I hear some kind of whistling/humming noise but when I got on the throttle it immediately disappears. Seemed to me the sound coming from the back. Anybody have any idea what the cause of this ?
any help would be appreciated, thank you very much!

Could it be your roof rack is making a noise from the wind when the car is at a certain degree(from you pressing the gas)? Just guessing.

Rear end worn or incorrect backlash maybe? How loud is it?

At 60-70mph the noise gets even louder when I let off the gas/throttle, I'm guessing is the driveshaft that is making the noise. But when I'm on the throttle it does not make any noise, it seemed like magically dissapears
I just recently had all the fluids replaced as well!
anymore ideas what could be the problem?
thanks

I'd guess either axle or driveshaft (u-joint)
