Saab 900 IC - Part Number

Post by bignose »

Hi,

I'm ordering a Saab 900 IC today/tomorrow and the folks i'm getting it from asked for a part number, as they have a few ones in stock.

Can any one provide this for me.

Also, wondering if there are any advantages of aluminum endtanks versus plastic ones ?

One more question, in LegacyT's pics, the dump valve is plumbed between the "pre intercooler" hose and the air intake.

would there be any benifit to plumbing the Dump valve between the intercooler and the throttle ? so it would measure pressure after it has been cooled ?

oh, and in reply, please don't use abbreviations or at lest defined what they mean, that always seems to confuse me.

thanks.

I don't have any of the info you need, but, When you do your install, please take many pics, and if you're ever up in the f'ton area let me know, I'd love to see an install first hand.

Excellent.

Also what you buy and where you buy it for tubing, hoses, pipes, hardware, etc.

The less I have to research on my own, the better.

I will be buying my IC from Ebay if no auto yards have them around here for ungodly prices

I doubt you'll be able to install it between the IC and TB, I had to trim my Saab IC because it went into the TB about a 1/8"

The Aluminum end tanks are MUCH better then the plastic ones as the plastic one have been known to crack. The plastic ones are cheaper though, I'm running one with plastic end tanks and haven't had any problems though at all.

If you can I would also try and get one of the the Euro upgrade models. These have like 10 large air channels instead of 16 smaller ones like the stock units. The Euro model is suppossed to flow better under high boost.

I don't know the part #'s but any Saab 900 (not 9000) would work.

Unless you're getting a super sweet deal I would check ebay before buying. I got mine off ebay for $40 shipped and it was in very good condition.

If you're able to put the DV (diverter valve) between the I/C (intercooler) and the TB (throttle body) you'll be the first to do it.
It is an extremely tight fit as is.

Good luck!
