Wow, very nice. What kind of quarter mile do you run? How do you find the rigidity of the chassis, does it creak with that kind of power?

hasn't been down since the good bits went on, but I would love to run a 12sec pass, I am hoping for at least 170kw @ wheels (some guys reckon it should get close to 200kw @ wheels but i think its a bit much) when I get it dynoed I'll keep you posted, its getting a possumlink standalone ECU with 3 bar map sensor and hand controller (for on street adjustments) but it doesn't creak at all, in fact it loves the power!

What sort of modifications needed to be made to the front bumper beam to accomodate the intercooler and associated piping?

A FMIC might be an after-tax season purchase along with some bigger injectors, assuming I get enough loot back this year

rsstiboy - That looks pretty sweet. When I was thinking of doing something similar I thought I was gonna have to move the battery and wasn't sure how to deal with the ABS unit. From the looks of things, the battery won't be a big deal and it also doesn't look like the ABS unit would either.

boostjunkie - rsstiboy's bumper is internally different from yours, boostjunkie, so probably had to cut a little less than you would have to.

Hehe... Awesome. I just noticed "vrg3 fcd" in your list of mods. :)

That's what I was thinking too. I've seen some fmic installations where the a/c condenser was removed and the battery relocated. I just assumed that is what had to be done to make the piping fit. Good to know I won't have to get rid of that stuff.

Is it just the bumper beam? I'm assuming that it's the heavy beam that gets in the way on my car. Hopefully, I won't have to do any external modification to the bumper.

it had to have the front beam cut and cut out quite alot of the front bar internally, and 2 holes - 1 below each headlight for the piping. its about 3 times the size of the std RS intercooler. the cooler itself is rated at 255 (engine) kw's which will be perfect for my application.

Any idea on the actual dimensions of the intercooler. I've been looking to get one with a core size of 30inchesx6inchesx2inches. I believe the end tanks are a little larger.

Do you know whether the jdm lightweight bumper beam will save me from having to cut a bumper support? I'm guessing a reciprocating saw would do the job if need be.

Man, I wish I had a plasma cutter!!

Nice mods, btw. Hopefully, I'll be on par with you by the time summer comes around.

its 500mm x 270mm x 70mm, the end tanks are Blitz and the core is custom made  with customised blitz intercooler piping

Hmmm, that's significantly smaller in length than the one I was thinkin about putting on my car. About how much useable space do you think you have to the right and left of the intercooler?

the core itself is rated at 255kw @ motor, which would equate to just under 200kw @ wheels which is plenty big enough for my application, check the link i posted earlier in this thread for a bigger front picture of the cooler you could go another 30mm wider on each side at least

I am having Agile Auto custom build a setup in the spring (along with my custom TBE).

I would like to know if the JDM lightweight beam would keep the support in place. If so, I'd go that route instead of cutting the stock one.

I'll be on par with you guys by this time next year ;)
