Injectors Help ?????

Hi all,
Gentleman, I’m looking to replace injectors for better ones. (91 LegTur), and I need your help.
What are the best ones for our cars? Where to get them? How much they cost?

Any information on this will be appreciated

Perhaps we might be better able to help you if we knew exactly what you are shooting for. Are you building up a big turbo, displacment increase or something else? I would hazard that the stock injectors would probably be sufficient for most applications (provided the fuel system behind them is good too). Pretty big power increases are needed before the stock injectors on the turbo see max duty cycles. If the injectors are old you could have them cleaned and flow matched (RC Engineering will do this http://www.rceng.com) and this would help and be cheaper too.

Having said this I suppose larger injectors could be custom ordered from RC as well (I also think Venom makes injectors for the Legacy and I suppose you could also substitiute Impreza injectors though I'm not sure what years are compatible or if they flow any more). See what other opinions are offered here from some more knowledgable members.

93-96 JDM WRX side feed injectors. (side-feed is key for our fuel rails).
JDM Legacy B4 Twin-turbo injectors also, not sure of the years for side feed. I think both of these are 550cc.

You can also have your injectors redone for a larger flow for about the price of some new ones, around $100 a piece i do believe. But you have to be able to tell your ecu to compensate for different size injectors. Or idle and fuel economy will suck.

Just noticed Brat4by4 posted a link to an ebay auction for new 550cc side feeds over in the Misc forum. Might not work with your car, 91 right?

I think the early JDM wrx's had 440cc injectors...I'm pretty sure JDM legacy's w/ EJ20G's had them too. I've a 94 EJ20G swapped in and it has 440cc side feeds...I think the 550's are STI's. Could be wrong though...

PS: anyone know where besides RC engineering I might be able to get new orings and/or insulators for my 440cc injectors? Do you think I must swap these if I am pulling them to get cleaned?

Speaking of injectors...I have a question. I am running 440cc injectors with stock legacy turbo engine managment...I also run a larger turbo (somewhat) and EJ20...If I was to upgrade to 530-550CC injectors, would my legacy turbo ECU be able to "handle" it? Would I have to make other mods?
