not any impreza only the gc chassis suspension parts fit. gc being 93-01. Most all the suspension parts are interchangeable since they use our chassis. My question though is do the gf and gm use the same chassis aswell?

I have a set waiting to be installed from a GC Impreza. Going under the car they match up perfectly. They should just bolt in. There may be a little finessing with the antiroll bar linkage, but it shouldn't be bad.

I would like to put the aluminum arms on the front and the trailing arms on as well. Prob won't happen until/when the whole drivetrain thing happens.
speaking of that.....Jason, any update from buckner?

all the alum pieces are a tad lighter...not much....but are stronger and have stiffer bushings.

hmmm
I thought that the only aluminum part was the lower control arm and the rest were steel. Is the suspension in the new GDB chassis all aluminum (besides the control arm)?

No, I think they're aftermarket. STi or something, I haven't really been paying attention to them. Most suspension parts from a GC will fit on a BC since GC's use our chassis. The rear sway bar apparently has some problems with the fuel tank.

Mine are STI units labelled for 'off-road use only'. I'm a rebel. I'll take my chances. But if they fail and I get hurt I won't sue!

Some people have said they're stronger than the rest of the suspension, and if you hit a curb or soemthing you'll end up bending something else like crossmember or struts or something crazy, I wasn't paying much attention.

yeh, if they are used for rally they damn well better be strong. but seriously... has anyone ever broken a control arm on their street car other than in an accident? aluminum control arms seems like a waste of $ to me, kind of like a $1000 titanium exhaust to save 3 lbs. theres other places your $ will go further.
I love to case.

I agree, there are better ways to spend money. I just got mine because they were real cheap. I've seen them for $1k and that's rediculous. For what I paid, you could almost buy two cheap wheels. I thought they'd look great too when approaching my car from the front as you can see the OEM arms quite clearly. I also want to replace the bushings and balljoints when I change the engine and the arms came with these installed.

From what I heard, weight isn't that much less.....it's the strength of them. My reasoning to get them would be the bushings....however if I can buy the same bushings and install them on the current arms.....I'll just do that....I don't care.

Yeah I think so....just that front bushing.
My only concern with the ALK is it takes the anti geometry out of the car and it will dive more under braking.....car already dives under braking....I really don't want more........that's been my only concern with putting an ALK on...
