Oh my friggin GOD!!!!!(wrx seats...)
Has ANYONE ever done this swap!?!?!?! I'm missing a bolt i need to hold the seatbelt reciever onto the seat, and the rear bracket is the wrong shape. any help? And swapping rails is NOT an option, i've already looked into it.
I looked into swapping them a while back....it was definitely not an easy plug and play type thing.....one of the reasons it discouraged me from doing it....

I dont think you looked hard enough. I swapped rails on a set of 97 seats from a legacy and 2000 seats from an impreza to the first gen legacy style. Wont you also loose the height adjustment with the WRX rails?
Just because the holes dont lign up doesnt mean it wont fit. Have you tried plugging your seat belts into the WRX receiver yet????

wrx rail(attachment shape)

Legacy rail(same)

went to subaru today. parts department said something about me doing crazy stuff to my car, coming in, asking for odds and ends... I dont think i've ever met the guy. But the manager asked me what I did about a rear strut bar.... He remembers me. lol Anywho, they dont carry the bolts seperately, only with the seatbelt reciever, and it wont fit my belts apparently. THey said to go to tacoma screw and get one. One of the auto guys at work said to get a longer bolt and use some steel to fill the gap between my seat rail and chassis, if I cant figure anything else out.

That should be fine, that's actually what I was thinking....LaureltheQueen wrote:To preserver resale value, I think i'm going to get a steel bushing to stick between the rail and chassis, and a longer bolt. Does that sound like it would work?

if you use a bolt and a spacer, you will put a lot more stress on the hole if you get into an accident. I know someone who had that bolt area rip open when their civic was hit, the seats leaned into the windshield, and honda bought them a new car. Just something to consider.

if i can track down 04 wrx seats, I want them. Grey=matches my interior=looks stock
I had to go to subaru today, and they just searched through their bins looking for the bolt measurements that I had gotten at a place that didnt have what I needed. While there, I spoke with the parts department manager, who autocrosses his miata. Apparently, the wrx doesnt even use the 2nd bolt, and 4 is all that's required by all the autocross associations in the area. Sooo... Long story short, got 3 free bolts to attach the seatbelts, and saved myself alot of frustration.
