I am from the Philippines and have been the lucky owner of a converted BG5 GT-B twin turbo for the past 4 months. I bought it from a friend who converted it as a project car. It started life as a BG GL(NA) the only legacy model sold here. We purchased a crashed BG-A GT (twin turbo)from Japan and swapped everything we could. Then we just purchased the bumpers and other outside cosmetics from Japan to make it look like a B model. The car has been running fine so far but will soon need help on maintenance and tuning.
Is there a lot of difference between the first and second generation Legacys? Will I be able to get help sourcing parts from this forum? My main problem so far is identifying parts and sourcing them out. Subarus presence is almost non existent in the Philippines so I will need to rely on the net to get info and purchase parts.

First off, anybody is welcome on our forums. The focus is on BC and BF Legacies, but anybody has the potential to benefit from and contribute to discussions. So welcome.
Mechanically, the first and second generation Legacies are very similar and many (I'd probably say most) parts will interchange. However, you may not get as much help as you'd like sourcing parts here because most of us are in North America, where your engine was never sold. Most interesting parts in North America are imported from places closer to you than to us. Never hurts to ask, though.
You may want to pay a visit to the RS Liberty Forums (http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/) for another resource.
