Car Dismantling

Post by QuickDrive »

I must say that I've never done so much to a car in my life. especially out in the cold in -20 C weather.

Today I took out both seats, center console and carpet looking for the ECU (haynes said its under the passenger floorpan) WRONG...

Well, I couldn't get at it very well with that big ol dash in the way, so off it came too... along with many snapped pieces of plastic along the way.

WOW there are a lot of wires in there... I'm glad I'm not putting this stuff in the car, it would take me years... Mind you I'm doing this without manuals or instructions so it's pretty much find a screw or bolt, loosen and remove it....

I'll take some pics tomorrow when I attempt to remove the rest of the wiring harness.

And we're probably going to play a game of guess the part, and is it needed for an engine swap.

the ecu is just to the left of the TCU (assuming you have one) which they are both under the dash.
