Simple Mod Day

Post by georryan »

So today I spent some time doing some simple mods. I slapped in a K&N filter which i've been meaning to do for a long time but haven't. I also cleaned out my IAC valve so tomarrow mornign I should know how well that worked. I also did the Throttle body bypass mod. The passenger side hose going from the IAC to the throttle body is really annoyingly short. It took a little bit of work to get everything hooked up, but I didn't break any hoses, lines or parts, so that is a big plus. I also capped the ends of the throttle body tubes with a rubber 1/4 in. vacuum plug. The 3/8 in. was just a bit too loose.

Basically there is a coolant line running through the throttle body. The mod basically take the coolant lines and connects them, bypassing the throttle body. It isn't recommended to do this in cold areas. But since I'm moving to California, and leaving Washington, I figure it is a safe time to do it. :)

You should be able to do it easier than me. I had a bunch of turbo lines and things I had to move to get to it. I also pulled the throttle body. I found it easier. I haven't noticed much of a difference yet, but that may change as I drive it around more. I hear the biggest thing is throttle response.
