Steel cylinder wall lining?

Post by shatowz »

For some reason I thought that the ej22t came stock with a type of steel sleeve on the inside of the cylinders....I was just told from an owner that he knew nothing about this...
(I had previously asked him about his decision in boring out the cyldinders if this would eliminate this imaginary steel sleeve)

Will someone confirm for me that this sleeve doesn't exist? Also...if not, has anyone heard of experimentation with this?

Yes, it does.

There are even pictures floating around if you use the search function.

pretty much all aluminum block engines have steel cylinder bores. an aluminum bore wouldnt last too long or be very strong.
I love to case.
