jdm legacy 2.0 turbo fuel system help

Post by bugeyes »

Im thinking of transplanting a 1990 jdm 2 liter turbo motor from a legacy (rhd) into a 1997 outback sport. My question is regarding the fuel system.
does the jdm legacy have the same set up with the fuel pump as the usdm wrx does. ie voltage is regulated to control the flow of fuel....

That wouldn't happen to be the same JDM rhd turbo Legacy I saw for sale on Ebay was it? Looked like a pretty seet ride -no clue how you would register something like that or get it through emissions, but it sure looked fun  !

From looking at the wiring of a 92 Liberty RS and of a 94 WRX, I would have to say that I'm pretty sure there is no fuel pump controller on a 1990 JDM Legacy turbo. The fuel pump is powered through the fuel pump relay which is controlled by the ECU, just like other early USDM Subarus (including, I think, your 97 OBS).
