Cross-Drilled Rotors?
Hi,
All four rotors on my 1991 4wd wagon warp about every 10K. I do live in the mountains but mainly use the gears to brake on downhill runs as much as possible. I torque them to 70 lb-ft. The rotors I buy are from CarQuest, not from the dealer so there may be some difference there. Still, it seems they should last longer than that. I've been thinking about getting spending the extra money for some cross-drilled rotors to see if they can bleed off heat more efficiently to stop the warping. Has anyone had any experience with cross-drilled rotors?
Mike

92 Legacy turbo with EJ20G engine swap \(^0^)/
Solid rotors are less likely to have problems than drilled. If anything go with slotted.
scottzg: You've never had brake fade? I have a full WRX swap (have h6 brackets, low on funds for new rotors) with stainless lines and new fluid and I regularly get fade when playing in the mountains.
You guys would have been so proud of me this weekend. We had that huge subaru meeting (we actually hold the record now for the largest gathering). Later in the day I followed a WRX 5 speed slightly modded up the hill. I was on his bumper the whole time! One of the passengers kept looking back surprised to see me
On the way down I led two WRX. After a few minutes I was so far ahead I didnt see the cars behind me. Unfortunatly my brakes started fading and I had to slow down. I was still able to get 7-8 car lengths in about 60 seconds if needed. It was so fun!
The only issue is my Kumho's are now turning to slicks!

I've had no trouble with Brembo cryo-treated rotors (that's the brand the cryo place used. Cheap bastards).
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
dont quote me on this, and im not sure if the rotors here in the pic in the link are the ones hes selling, but these are 4 lug rotors, i dont know of one legacy/impreza or outback that has 4 lug rotors/rims...these are for older subaru's...implying the rotors in the pic are the ones hes selling as legacy's....anyone else think this?ej22t wrote:Try this guy, they do A1 servise very good seller in Ebay
