ARGG HELP ME

I am about to give up now so unless anyone has any ideas im gonna give in and go to a subie mechanic. The problem is the same, random stalling, well not that random. Usualy it is after the engine has warmed up and most of the time after highway travel e.i. comming off the exit ramp. Only when i pull it into neutral, BTW it is a 91 legacy FWD MT. Usualy the rpms come down slowly to an idle but sometimes they drop right to a stall, occasionally it saves itself and jumps back up or idles very low untill I hit the accelerator.
At first i had some ecu codes, knock, solenoid and MAF.
I changed the knock sensor solenoid purge and the MAF went away after those were changed. I am hoping that still isnt the problem. I was ripped off at a salvage yard were i purchased a MAF for an AT which they would not take back and assured me it would work even after i repeatedly told them it was not for a MT. Ive also changed the FPR and fuel pump. Still stalls. A while back i had an exhaust leak. after i got it fixed the car seemed to stablize quite a bit but not fully. The leak has returned possibly this is causing the problem to persisit but i find it strange for an exhaust leak to cause the car to totally stall. Any ideas would be appreciated. If you live in the NY area come on by and check it out for me :-/

How's your IAC valve? That usually is very dirty. Give it a good cleaning with some brake parts cleaner.

Well i sprayed the shit out of it , a little inside and let it dry , the springs and all that crap, unscrewed the sensor part and cleaned that. Im tempted to set the idle a little higher but i dont want to waste gas.
Im still pondering the MAF since the light did come on in the past before i replaced the Knock and solenoid purge... I have to drive it around a little more to see if cleaning the IAC did the trick. ill give some info on it later today.

After messing around with the IAC, i turned up the idle rpm a little. It still acts funny but does not stall. it at times gets stuck at 1500 rpm and idles down to 900... or sometimes goes straight to 900. Either way it is not running right but atleast with the set higher the car is not stalling out. What could be the problem here. is it the mechanical flap or the actual sensor itself? anyone has a spare to sell or test out?
