When my car goes to get inspected, are they going to bitch and moan about the coffee-mug or the intercooler?

Will it cause a problem?

Maryland if it makes a difference.

Can I say that I just bought the car like that?

I can just not install the intercooler until I am all inspected, but my dad accidentally threw away my pre-turbo resonator.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It looks stock enough. Besides...are you really going to get an inspector that knows what is sappose to be there??

As long as you have a cat on the exhaust and the PCV system isn't tampered with, I think you'll be ok.

Hmm, good to know. I'll get inspected. If they say anything about the mug, Matt, do you think we could swap for a day or something? My dad accidentally threw out my stock resonator.

Um, my car passed inspection a lot more modded than your's. I wouldn't worry about it. All the MD state inspection is is a safety check.

Oh yeah. . . speaking of inspections, Laurel should post her emissions sheet that came in the car from the last test the previous owner had done.

For a 92, it's a VERY clean-running engine.

I didn't even have a cat!! Honestly, you guys might be getting an emissions test confused with a MD state inspection. The inspection purely checks the safety of the car: brakes, flashers, headlights, seatbelts, etc. The only thing I had to swap out was the suspension, because it was "too low." Just went to the yard, pulled a stock suspension, swapped it out and back in again after the inspection.

Phil, I can give you the name (or at least the location) of a place in Ellicott City that was easy on inspection checks.

If you wanna know what they check, go to any MD state inspection station and they'll have the checklist they go over in a plaque on the wall of thieir waiting area.
