Caliper Locking

Hey guys,

my 94 SS driver's side caliper is locking into one position and it is burning pads, i have already taken it apart cleaned it and lubed it and still doing the same thing, any suggestions? or if i need a new caliper do you know where i can get one other than the dealer?

Actually, I change my mind. I would try to find a used front WRX Caliper/bracket set. Everyone and their mother does a front brake upgrade on their WRX so there are lots of low mile stockers laying around. The increase in braking power is superb.

How did you take it apart, clean it, and lube it?

Did you verify that the caliper can slide on the guide and lock pins? A seized guide pin sounds like the most likely culprit.

Yup. That's exactly what happened to me three years ago. My passenger side guide pin was seizing and causing the pads to wear down extremely quickly.
