Does anyone else get frustrated?

Post by LaureltheQueen »

I'm sitting here in a class, listening to guys talk about cars, not knowing whta they're talking about. They're saying the RSX has more power than the wrx, and then talking about putting racing suspension on a wrx, and an upgraded turbo, then another guy's like "man, that'd cost more than just buying an STi"

then they get into insurance costs, and clearly, an STi would have cheaper insurance than an eclipse, because it has 4 doors... oh my goodness, this is painful. I'm nearly incapable of not saying something, in these situations, this is my number one pet peeve. Guys talking shit about stuff they dont know about, nor have any experience with, like it's fact. Dear god. :x

It's terribly annoying, usually i just try to laugh to myself as those are the kind of people that would key my car if were to correct them on anything.

It just irritates me, because it's ignorance, and according to my formula, they will kill someone at some point.

I don't think they're necessarily ignorant. More like clueless. Dumbass also comes to mind.

These are the exact people that need to be enslaved for tedious manufacturing processes as they're ignorant and proud. Otherwise they'd try to educate themselves and not be so loud about what they don't know. Like Brave New World they could be told that their class is the best and conditioned to be proud of their class (although this part sounds unnecessary). I'd give them guaranteed healthcare and housing with cable and minimal entertainment expenses to keep them appeased and I'm sure they'd love the comfort and never having to use that bothersome brain.

I know more than most, but I go to car shows or races and I listen as I never know when I'll learn something new (which is still an awful lot of the time).

Was it Aristotle that said, "The more you know, the more you know you don't know."? Of course he would've said it in Greek so if I had a Cyrillic alphabet keyboard, I guess it would've looked more like "iuh whwao oihdwh walgwoimnap lhw mxm ksazobrq."

I agree wholeheartedly. I'd rather be right than nice. Besides, I don't want these clowns to be my friends anyway, so who cares if I piss them off?

Aaaaaaaaaag, I was just subjected to listening about this guy’s car, which he repeatedly referred to as “tha new-hotness  ,” and all the pimp shit he had done to it. “Tha new hotness” is a red Ram Air Grand Am, but it has 20’s, a K&N, some glass packs, 90% all around, a Hot Wheels flame steering wheel cover, HID’s, and altezza lights. He informed his captivated audience that he only upgraded with quality components, like APC…he tried to stay away from the Wal-Mart stuff on this build. He started talking about how his air filter and the Ram Air was just as good as a turbo, but he’s thinking about NOS so he can burn some Corvettes. I finally couldn’t take it any more and told him that actually that the Ram Air is entirely part of a Pontiac marketing plan and has no performance benefits all, to which he replied, “Pshhh, no man, it’s good for at least 30hp.” I couldn’t help but try and convince him that his 40lb chrome DUB’s loose him at least 30hp. He finally blew me off with….and I couldn’t make this up….”What do you know about cars, I’ve been a professional mechanic for 3 years, I know my shit.” I reply, “Really, where do you work?” And this is the good part: he answers…..”Juffy Lube.” It’s only a matter of time that this POS will understeer off the road into a telephone pole and burst into flames trapping it’s duche bag owner within. With any luck the fire will take out some Crack dealers or ground hogs and really make the world a better place. Wheew…Good rant.

I hate that too. I'm tired of people telling me they have "NOS". Tired of people saying that intakes make them run 2 seconds faster. Tired of people lying about what's under the hood. I'm tired of people with big rims and small brains. Tired of people who think 20's don't hurt performance. I'm tired of seeing people weave in and out of traffic with their poorly lowered Accords. Insane amounts of camber and sparks flying as these assholes speed over speed bumps. Bouncing off the revlimiter while stuck in traffic. Burnouts. Locking brakes. Fights over paint jobs. And nitrous purge, but none going into the car.

Sucks that things will always be like this though. I don't laugh at their ignorance, I laugh because I pity them.

You guessed correctly. If they do have nitrous, it is probably installed in their hubcaps.

I saw this retard (leaning to the center like he was in a McLaren F1 with one crossed-hand on top of the wheel) the other day in his 1st gen Integra with APCs, cut springs, and assbag wheels and BEAT body try to show off to an oblivious guy in a newer Camaro SS. The guy 'roared' by me and I watched in the rear view as he tried to pass a Hyundai Tiburon on the right who just about to switch into that lane. The mouth breather then hesitated, obviously not anticipating the possibility that he wasn't noticed (why do these morons have the overinflated sense of self-importance to think ANYONE notices anything other than how stupid they are?). After a split-second hesitation he decides to plant it and went up a curb missing a telephone pole by mere inches before the Hyundai noticed this frickin' assmonkey and moved away so he could fall back onto the street.

I was disappointed he didn't hit the pole so I could turn around and laugh and spit on his bleeding corpse.

The story of my life :( Most recently a guy at work told me his friends integra could beat anything... so for shits and giggles i asked him what he had done...

Guy @ work: "He has a turbo off a bus in there"

Me: "WTF, that's just stupid, he must have a shitload of lag"

Guy @ work: "No lag, he knows how to launch it"

Me: "Sorry you can't beat physics".... walks away

I'd love to see how a dinky 1.X liter motor is gonna spin that turbo before it hits redline... dumbass :x
