yeah, it's still slightly dispraportionate, but i'm okay with that.

One trick, if you want to hear, is to exaggerate perspective so it looks more realistic. It's kind of like making scale models where some parts shouldn't be exactly scaled like the rest as they look unrealistic in exact smaller scale - it's some kind of visual illusion. So, like, you would make the front driver's corner slightly bigger and the back a little smaller and almost curved away from you a little bit so you wouldn't see as much behind the rear wheel.

Wheels should always be extra large, too due to fender gaps looking horrible in renderings - but you've got that part.

Hope I don't sound overcritical, but drawing cars is all about tricks and I figured I could help impart a little of what I learned in design school.

I like the face.

Cool. Some people can't take constructive criticism and get all upset so I wasn't sure. You didn't seem that type, but I've been surprised before. Of course that's why those people never get any better.

At school they would dismember evrything we did, but as long as we didn't take it personally (and why would we?) they taught us a hell of a lot. I can't believe how much I learned there.

i need to add shadowing at the front of the hood... i missed that, thanks. also, the driver's side headlight needs some work.

Looks like you used pastels or chalk or something. Ever work with markers? Car designers usually base everything with marker and then add pastels or chalk for depth (you can add color from both sides with something like marker paper) and pencil or paint for accents and details (like white and black pencil to show a reflection and shadow down a door seem or the like).

The best markers to get by far that I've used are called Ad Markers made by Chartpak. They can be found in good art/design supply places and kick Prisma Color ass. Unlike Prismas (their pencils are good, though) these markers last forever and give rich even color with every swipe. They're chisel tip, not dual sided like the Prismas, but those only last a few strokes before wimping out. They've also always been cheaper when I've bought them (most professional designers use the Prisma Colors, but us mortals without design department backing can't afford to buy $4 markers all the time). The reason the Ad Markers last is that they're xylene based instead of alcohol. Therein is also their biggest problem - they STINK and xylene is not good for you. So use in a ventilated area and don't draw on yourself and they're perfect. Actually, you get used to the smell...

Oh, the reason I mentioned this - you can get the markers in different shades of a color and use the varying shades to show paint in reflection and shadow. For example, with white you could use shades of gray to show the body panels that are in different strengths of light then Hardy and Art couldn't call your hood concave.

i did a quick sketch and then scanned it. then spent a few hours editing it with photoshop, but i'm not very skilled in using that yet, and it's more or less for a design for a print, so it didnt need to be completely real looking, i just liked making it.

as far as the design is concerned, i like everything except the spoiler that sticks up and ruins the roofline. I love the hood.
