fit WRX intercooler

Besides removing the AC line, what else would I need to do to fit a US WRX intercooler? It doesnt really look like anything else would be in the way since I already moved the coolant tank to fit the Saab IC....
And another thing, how do I go about relieving the pressure and getting rid of all the coolant and junk from the AC? Will the lines just unbolt?

You should take it to a shop that will purge the system for you. That's nasty stuff for the atmosphere, don't want it leaking out and wreaking havoc on the ozone layer. After that, I would guess you could just start unbolting stuff.

you didn't hear it from me......but slowly unbolting the ac line on the compressor will depressurize the system.

officially you should go to a shop.......

If your car is charged with R-12 refrigerant, you really should look around for a shop. Some shops will pay you to let them discharge your R-12 system, since R-12 is so valuable.

When you discharge it by loosening a fitting, it comes out and rapidly vaporizes. That makes it get really really cold. If your hands get in the way you could get frostbite, and if it hits rubber hoses you could risk damaging them. It's really bad to breathe in any of the vapors, too... Unless you really have no choice, just get a shop to evacuate it with the right tools.

When I did my conversion the shops i asked didn't want my r12. They can't verify that it is good, what it is, or if it's contaminated, so they'll charge you to suck it out. It wasn't tha t much though.

The turbo to IC pipe will need to change. You will have a problem with the BOV and coolant tank I think, it looks like they want the same space under the hood.

If you use a stock WRX IC and a stock WRX BOV the BOV will bump into the throttle cables. Other than that its a pretty tight fit, but it fits. Also you will need to find a way to connect it to the turbo. I ordered some pipes from Perrin, I think they will be flexible enough to do something with them. I think i could just chop the existing pipe that goes from turbo to engine and connect the perrin pipe there. Hope this helps.
