Phil, get ready. You never know when your pressure plate is gonna kick the bucket all of a sudden. And yes, it does happen suddenly..
I've shared the story before a couple times. My clutch would hold through 1st and 2nd. But get on it hard enough and it would slip a bit in 3rd and up, and mine's not even turbo

. I was noticing the release point getting lower and lower as I drove it, so I knew it wouldn't be long... I drove the car to Discount Auto Parts about 4 miles away, ironically for something not clutch-related, and it drove okay there.
On the way back, the release point got so low it was constantly engaged. I was double-clutching and still grinding gears. The next day I drove it to the mechanic, and the moment I pulled in the shop, the pedal stayed on the floor

!
Phil, you can probably do it yourself. Yours is turbo, so the hydraulic stuff isn't something I've worked with, but with a friend by your side, a set of jackstands to put the car on, and a floor jack, that tranny can be out in 2 hours. Just get a Haynes manual as a reference as to what you need to take off in order to get it out.
And don't sell the car! Calm down, fix it, and enjoy it even more, being proud of the good job you did! It's always worth it, trust me
