a buddy of mine has a 86 305TPI TA with a 700r4 and a few free mods. well ive raced him at least a half dozzen times and lost every time at the light and could never cach up. today we lined up after school and finaly got the light and took him by two cars by the time we shut it down. its my first kill and a v8 at that. im so happy  :D

how does a subaru lose to a, well, anything, at the light? Every race i've been in has been to see at what mph the other guy catches up to me at.

When you get to the red light, stop. Look at the other lights that are green... When they turn yellow, give it just a little gas to hold the RPM up at about 2,500-3,000 rpm. When it turns green, dump the clutch and stomp that go pedal to the pavement. ;)

My first race was against a VW bug with a hell of a lot better PWR. There was traffic in my lane, so I got screwed anyway. :p I did get to see a kick ass 6 foot long flame come out of his tailpipe after that, though. ;)
