new fender prep
I am getting ready to install new front fenders, found an killer deal thanks to the efficent people on this board. Before i install them anybody have ideas on what can be done to prevent further/new rust? the achillys heel for this Scoobie 

28 yrs old, car is paid for, making $400.00 a month IRA/401K payments!

Get zinc galvanizer in a can. It's sold through McMaster-Carr. If not or if it's already primed, you could spray it with undercoating or extra layers of primer. I used undercoating on mine.

You could use a coat of POR-15 rust preventative paint (which is awesome by the way), and use their Tie-Coat primer over it to prep for a color-matched paint. Works like a champ, as long as you keep your layers smooth.
