Warning: Hijacked thread potential here

Those of you from sacramento, take some time to go to La Bou if you haven't ever gone. I've eaten there a lot in the last 10 years and that place has some good stuff. Sorry to everyone else, it is only a sacramento franchise as far as I can tell.

No Jimboys up here either. We have likely the least amount of franchises in the country. Lots have come here and failed where else they thrive. I think there's just so many damn good reasonably-priced restaurants around and not so much space that it's a tough market to crack. Popeyes has died up here, Krispy Kreme is trying but not doing so well, we don't get White Castle or Red Lobster (like they'd have a chance in New England anyway. Their ads show a chef coming out of the water holding red lobsters. Where'd he get them? An underwater volcano? Any real sea food place would know that fresh lobsters aren't red - that frightens me.). Arbees aren't too common, 99 has only moved in the last six years or so by buying out other established locations (mostly Ground Rounds).

damn, I feel sorry for you guys. Jimboys is awesome. As close as I live to la bou, I really don't eat there enough :)
kidatari, there's a couple of la bous around, there's one on the corner of madison and garfield, another on the corner of fair oaks and stanley or something, right near that dominos (or used to be, dunno if they're still open) across the street from burger king and wells fargo and all that shit, you really should go eat there.
